You’re probably new around here—we get it. Before you begin reading about what to expect from your Eagle Ridge Experience, forget everything you think you know about working with a family portrait photographer. The Eagle Ridge Experience we offer is delightful—and entirely different from anything you’ve experienced before.
The buzz of a busy life or chaotic season can distract us from our abundance for so long that we enter a holding pattern without even knowing it. Ever cycled through mealtimes and bedtimes on autopilot? Unexpected events can also cloud our view of our abundance. During these seasons we all often need reminders of why life is worth living.
Photographers call that reminder “seasonal portraits.” We regularly block out time with loved ones to admire the people we hold closest to our hearts. But the concept of portraits is useful to more than just those of us who carry a camera. Regular portraits, especially for growing families, draw your attention back to your abundance.
We know you can’t—and shouldn’t—avoid all forms of busyness in the months ahead. But even in your busyness, you don’t have to lose sight of the people and details that make your lives full. How? You can give your family the gift of seasonal portraits. Portraits cast a vision for your legacy and remind you of the spirit and charm that fill your lives so abundantly.
What can you expect from your Eagle Ridge Experience?
Above all else, you can expect to feel at home with us. Eagle Ridge Photography & Design is a husband-and-wife team effort, inspired by the ever-maturing faces of our four delightful children. We’ll work with you to create natural, winsome portraits of your growing family.
In short, we design reminders of why life is worth living.
Our Eagle Ridge acreage checks all the boxes. We have vibrant leaves on (literally) countless trees, open fields for unbridled action, and a host of places to play that you’ll still be thinking about long after you’ve returned home.
Ours are elevated family portraits. They’re delightfully natural in surroundings that are worth every moment—and every penny. We’re about as far from uncomfortably public family portraits as you could imagine.
Now, the logistics of your experience.
01: DAYDREAM
Start by reflecting on the big and little details of your family life and take notes. What do you want to be able to see on your walls—and hold in your hands—next season? A year from now? At the end of this decade? What in your life is most important to you? What stories do you relive with your spouse as you watch your family grow?
Here’s a dream of ours: raising chickens alongside our own little brood of kids. As soon as the temperature warmed enough for the chicks, we brought everybody outside for a round of inaugural portraits. Take a minute to enjoy this one-minute view of our favorites.
02: DEFINE
Have your dream in mind? Now define that dream. When you plan for natural—and regular—family portraits, you give yourself an invaluable gift: something tangible by which you remember all of the details that build a life. Your portraits will enable to you to keep an in-your-bones knowing of your family’s unique spirit and charm.
What expressions and interactions would you love to see on display around your home? How do you most want to enjoy your portraits? Do you prefer them on your walls as one or more galleries, in your hands as an album, or on shelves and desks as keepsakes?
03: DECIDE
This is the fun part. This is when we turn your dreams for a beautiful display into a tangible reality that fits your home and your budget.
Within a couple weeks of your portraits we’ll gather again for your reveal & ordering session. We’ll invite you to relax on our oversized couch with a mug of coffee, cocoa, or tea, and we’ll play your slideshow (twice).
You’ll identify all of your favorite images. We’ll help you match them to products you already know you love, like wall art, albums, keepsakes, and gifts.
By the end of the meeting you’ll officially decide which products to purchase and make your payment. All decision makers should be present at the reveal.
04: DISPLAY
When you hang portraits on your wall, place them on your shelves, and hold them in your hands, we guarantee you’ll remember the details you couldn’t imagine forgetting. 4-6 weeks after your reveal & ordering session, Nate and I will hand-deliver your portraits and offer to hang your wall art. We love to tie a bow on the whole portrait process and so enjoy your reaction to seeing your wall art on display.
We’re in it together
I hope it’s clear to you that we’re balanced. We work and we play. We dream and we plan. We watch for charming moments of spontaneity even as we work from a list of all the pictures we want to take during your session.
We’ll hold your hand through every step of the natural family portrait process, and by the time we reach the end of it you’ll have memories from our acreage that outlive your session. We consider our job done when your family’s portraits are active reminders of why life is worth living.
